T-shirts have become a mass phenomenon, especially among young people. It’s awesome to have a typography design printed on your tshirt that sets you apart from the others, especially if you make it yourself. But there a lot of known slogans out there taken over by people that feel like expressing differently than those who wear complex designs. They feel like identifying with the message and adhering to a certain group of people that think similarly.
They are more often than not ironic and sarcastic, but a lot of them are also preferred for their shock effect – like tshirts with profanities or taboo subjects, depending on the culture and the expected reaction of the society. It’s all a matter of tastes; it’s about how you want to be perceived among friends, on the street, at the party or in class.
