Artist of the week – Joe Fenton hand drawn designs

Joe Fenton is an amazing illustrator that defies the human laws of patience. He is British but lives in New York. He creates some of the most complicated and detailed drawings ever imagined and does that with a natural skill and dedication. Most of his works are hand drawn in graphite and given the final touches in ink and acrylics.

The stories he tells in his highly complex designs are extremely detailed and tend towards perfection. Few artists have the ability to work on a design for 10 month, 10 hours a day to get it done. It goes to show his dedication for art and how he immerses himself in the process of creation. He conceives the design piece by piece to a small scale then combines the details together to form these amazing works of art. He admits that his pieces reflect a constant fear of death and everything unknown like in “Solitude”, with several allusions to religious symbolism, even though he is definitely not a religious person. Because everything is so detailed and complex, his works invite you to explore an unprecedented world of mystery.
