The Greeks created images of their deities for many purposes and nowadays Heyemilychu, an artist we found on Etsy is trying to bring them back. Her representation of the Greek Gods is slightly different from the images that we used to see in our history books but nevertheless she managed to put an unique spin on something old and forgotten. The prints add up to a collection of 6 and they represent Hades (God of the underworld), Aphrodite (Goddess of love), Artemis (Mistress of Animals), Athena (Goddess of wisdom), Zeus (God of sky and thunder) and Poseidon (God of the Sea). The style and variety of these paintings is as vivid as the colorful Greek culture. She uses minimalist elements and colors to depict the Gods, each with his own personality and powers. The digital prints could make for an awesome gift to an Greek mythology lover or even for your own walls.
The original paintings were Gouache painted on Bristol Board and they were all sold August 2014. You can now get the digital prints that are an exact replica of the original paintings and they are all signed by the artist. The digital size is: 10 15/16″ x 14″ (to fit a 11″x14″ Frame”) and the image size is: 6.5″x6.5″. The paper she uses to print them is 80lb Matte Cardstock. Each digital print costs $16.52 and it ships worldwide from Edmonton, Canada. You can buy the prints from her shop on Etsy by clicking here.
