Ably apparel t-shirts – buh-bye to smelly synthetic clothing
I think I’ve seen numerous apparel brand trying to offer sustainable, long-lasting, waterproof t-shirts that will save you time, money and the headache of washing/drying/ironing them. I honestly don’t know what happened to those proposals but I can tell you about one you will definitely remember: Ably Apparel from Seattle, USA, powered by apparel industry veterans Raj Shah and Akhil Shah, along with Stanley Hainsworth, former creative director at NIKE, Lego and Starbucks.
Ably wants to create 100% premium cotton t-shirts and hoodies that repel water, stains, and odor so you can get into your dirtiest fun and still look and smell fresh. Basically, they are trying to completely eliminate doing laundry from our lives.
Ably Apparel is based on Filium™, a technology that makes natural fabrics repel liquids, stains, and odors. Which is what makes all of these slide off like it does on glass.
The sweat will not be absorbed, but will evaporate. While there is no 100% waterproofing, the garments will dry 40% faster than your usual cotton fibers.
As a girl I am also enthusiastic about the women’s line that has many fashionable cuts and colors.
So, to recap: these are highly resistant to dirt, they literally repel it, they dry in almost half the time when you finally decide to wash them, they are sustainable for the environment and they are also fashionable.
That catch is that this is in the prototype stage, if you can believe it. Although the Kickstarter campaign is already a major success – it has pledged no less than $137,011 as we speak, when the goal was for just $20,000. Even Business Insider featured these awesome products. Just think that these clothes have been tested on professional athletes, travelers, weekend warriors, moms and their toddlers.
